Our class and our classroom
This is a J460 course, which means it is an experimental rather than a permanent part of the curriculum. You are the first students to take this course in the Media School. As such, we, together, are blazing new trails with IDV. Our hope, and our goal, is that this course will be seen as a cornerstone in creating a more digitally oriented path for our students who are interested in the many ways that journalism and storytelling can be enhanced by technology.
Classroom policies
- Attendance is mandatory, but I will not take attendance.
- Quizzes can be made up only with an excused absence: death in the family, religious observation, serious illness, or attending an IU-sanctioned event. Documentation is required.
- No food or drink during class, please.
- No mandatory materials, but I recommend a flash drive (at least 16GB) or an external HD for backups if you intend to work on the computers in the EP210 classroom.
- Please feel free to bring and use your own laptops for this class. Because we will likely be doing a great deal of work outside our class sessions, you may find this more convenient, especially if you are wanting to keep your website well-organized.
